'Zero Accident' at Tarahan Port

Bukit Asam Tarahan Port once again made achievement in the field of OHS, receiving the 'Zero Accident' award from the Ministry of Manpower. Bukit Asam Tarahan Port’s performance in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) sector deserved a thumbs up. This one of the operational areas of Bukit Asam in Lampung Province received the award for successfully preventing work accidents or zero work accidents within the company. 

The award was handed over by Secretary of the Lampung Province Fahrizal Darminto as representative of the Governor of Lampung Arinal Djunaidi, at the official residence of the governor Mahan Agung in Bandar Lampung on June 30, 2021. The General Manager of Tarahan Port, Dadar Wismoko, received the award in person.

The Governor of Lampung’s remark, read by the Regional Secretary, asked the Manpower Office and all related parties to ensure that all workers can work safely, are safe from work accidents, and are healthy and free from the threat of disease.

Fahrizal said the Lampung Provincial Government has issued a regional regulation related to the Adaptation of New Habits so that the people would remain productive and safe from the threat of the Covid-19 virus that can be implemented in all community activities, especially in the workplace.

Implementing OHS

This year's OHS  award is given to companies that are considered successful in implementing OHS, in the category of zero work accidents, OHS management systems, prevention programs, and HIV/AIDS prevention in the workplace and OHS officers. The Regional Secretary also appealed to companies to be able to synergize with the Lampung Provincial Government in terms of reducing unemployment. "There are several ways that companies can do, among others, employees can provide training and internships to co-workers so that they can increase their work productivity," said Fahrizal.

In Lampung Province, there are 16 companies receiving the “Zero Accident” OHS award, 15 companies receiving OHS Management System (SMK3) award, and one company receiving P2 HIV/AIDS award in the workplace for the second time. Based on the achievements of these 32 companies, the Governor of Lampung received an award as a OHS officer for the 12th time.
