Strengthening Energy Transition, Bukit Asam (PTBA) Presents Solar Power Plant in Cilegon Industrial Estate Cilegon, June 17, 2025 – PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) through its subsidiary in renewable energy investment, PT Bukit Energi Investama (PT BEI), today officially operated the 303.1 kWp Timah Industrial Solar Power Plant (PLTS). Located in the Cilegon Industrial Estate, this project is a realization of strategic collaboration between PT BEI as an investor, PT Krakatau Chandra Energy (KCE) as the area manager and EPC contractor, and PT Timah Industri as the energy user.

The inauguration of this Solar Power Plant marks PTBA's step forward in realizing the energy transition and utilization of clean energy sources in Indonesia. With a Power Rental scheme for 25 years and continued with Build, Own, Operate, Transfer (BOOT) at the end of the investment period, Solar Power Plant of Timah Industri will meet the electricity needs of PT Timah Industri's in a sustainable manner.

The 303.1 kWp Solar Power Plant Timah Industri operates off-grid, but is interconnected to the Industrial Area Gas and Steam Power Plant (PLTGU) network, ensuring a stable and efficient electricity supply. In this case, PT BEI also plays a full role in managing the operation and maintenance (O&M) activities of the Solar Power Plant.

"The operation of Solar Power Plant Timah Industri is one of PTBA's commitments in expanding our renewable energy portfolio," said Turino Yulianto, PTBA’s Director of Product Hilirisasi and Diversification. "Through PT BEI, we invest in clean energy projects that not only provide financial benefits, but also have a positive impact on the environment and industrial sustainability in Indonesia."

This initiative is part of PTBA's efforts to diversify the company's revenue sources by transforming towards clean and environmentally friendly energy. This is in line with our big vision, which is to become a world-class energy company that cares about the environment. This project also confirms PTBA Group's commitment in supporting the government program towards Net Zero Emission in 2060. Through projects like this, we hope to make a real contribution in reducing carbon emissions significantly, while encouraging the creation of a competitive green business ecosystem.

This Solar Power Plant project also adds to the portfolio of solar energy development that has been carried out by PTBA. Previously, we have built Solar Power Plant with a total capacity of 925 kWp, including through cooperation with PT Angkasa Pura for Solar Power Plant in airport and toll road areas, as well as irrigation Solar Power Plant for agriculture. With the operation of this Solar Power Plant at PT Timah Industri, our total Solar Power Plant portfolio has reached 1.2 MWp. This is an important achievement that strengthens PTBA's role as a major player in the development of solar energy in the country.

Through this Solar Power Plant Timah Industri project, PTBA emphasizes its position as a pioneer in the development of a clean energy ecosystem and actively contributes to achievement of national renewable energy targets. This synergy between SOEs is expected to be an inspiring example for similar collaborations in supporting energy security in line with the Government's Asta Cita and environmental sustainability in Indonesia.
