Bukit Asam, PLN and KAI signed Memorandum of Understanding on State-Owned Enterprises Strategic Partnership in Supply Chain Security for National Electricity Sustainability.According to Suryo Eko Hadianto, President Director of Bukit Asam, this partnership showed good collaboration and synergy between SOEs taking steps to create value for SOEs and the state. "Availability of coal, in my opinion, will realize the stability of the country. Hopefully the three corporations will be able to make this happen," he said. This synergy is expected to create opportunity for all parties to develop their businesses, increase their contribution and strengthen the role of SOEs as economic drivers in Indonesia.
Deputy Director of PLN Darmawan Prasodjo explained that PLN was looking for a solution regarding its primary energy supply, one of which was coal. “PLN must obtain a sustainable, reliable coal supply for the long term. With fluctuations in the price of coal, we are looking for a way to stabilize the price of coal and PLN's electricity," he said.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT KAI Didiek Hartantyo believed that this field visit showed the seriousness among the three SOEs in building the national electricity supply. "PT KAI is indeed eager to build this program together according to the agreement so that the planning can be executed properly. We are committed to that," he said.
After the MOU signing event that took place in Palembang on September 3. 2021, Directors of Bukit Asam, PLN, and KAI visited Perajen, the pier point planned in Palembang.
