PTBA and China Huadian Corporation Explore Wind Power Plant Development Jakarta, November 2, 2022 - PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) and China Huadian Corporation (CHD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 18, 2022 on exploring the development of 1,300 MW Wind Power Plant in South China and the development of other renewable energy in Indonesia.

"The collaboration with CHD is one of PTBA's steps to realize the vision of becoming a world-class energy and chemical company that cares about the environment. This is also in line with the Government's target to achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2060 or earlier," said PTBA President Director Arsal Ismail.

According to Arsal, PTBA can gain experience in Wind Power Plant development as well as contribute to energy conservation, emission reduction, and sustainable development. Through this collaboration, PTBA also wants to accelerate the development of NRE in Indonesia.

"We hope to have a transfer of technology. We would like CHD to also be able to develop Wind Power Plant in Indonesia and we are now looking for suitable locations for Wind Power Plant development," he said.

Meanwhile, the President Director of China Huadian Overseas Investment Co.,Ltd. (CHDOI) Fang Zheng and President Director of Huadian Guangxi Energy Co.,Ltd. (CHDGX) Duan Xi Ming stated that they welcomed the plan to develop Wind Power Plant together with PTBA in China and the joint plan to develop renewable energy in Indonesia.

"The cooperation with PTBA has been well established since the construction of Sumsel-8 Coal-fired Power. We hope that this cooperation plan can run smoothly as planned with the support of the Chinese Government and the Indonesian Government," said Fang Zheng.

To expand its portfolio in the NRE sector, PTBA has developed several Solar Power Plants, such as Solar Power Plant with a capacity of 241 kilowatt-peak (kWp) at the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) Building in collaboration with PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) that has been fully operational since October 2020.

PTBA is also collaborating with Jasa Marga Group for the development of solar power plant on toll roads. On September 21, 2022, the solar power plant with a capacity of 400 Kilowatt-peak (kWp) on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road was completed and inaugurated.

At the 2022 SoE International Conference in Bali on October 18, 2022, PTBA explored the potential for cooperation in PV mini-grid development at the operational location of the Semen Indonesia Group (SIG).

Currently PTBA has a number of ex-mining lands that can be used for the development of solar power plant including the Ombilin ex-mining area in West Sumatra covering an area of 201 hectares (ha) and Tanjung Enim area of 224 hectares. The potential of solar power plant in each of these lands reaches 200 Megawatts (MW).
