The agreement was signed by PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Director of Business Development Rafli Yandra and Vice President of China Huadian Overseas Investment Co. Ltd (CHDOI) Lu Youan on Saturday, July 29, 2023, witnessed by PTBA President Director Arsal Ismail and CHDOI Chairman Qiu Tiangen.
"Through cooperation with CHDOI, PTBA as a Mining Industry Holding Member MIND ID wants to accelerate the development of renewable energy in Indonesia," said Rafli Yandra.
This collaboration is one of PTBA's measures towards realizing its vision of becoming a world-class energy and chemical company that cares about the environment. This is also in line with the Government's target of achieving Net Zero Emissions in 2060 or earlier.
"We hope to gain experience in the development of renewable energy while contributing to energy conservation, emission reduction and sustainable development," Rafli said.
One of the concrete manifestations of PTBA's support in efforts to reduce global carbon emissions is the synergy with PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk in the development of 400 Kilowatt-peak (kWp) capacity Solar Power Plant on the Jasa Marga Group toll road.
The construction of the Bali-Mandara Toll Road Solar Power Plant, which was inaugurated on September 21, 2022, is proceeding very well, resulting in positive benefits in terms of energy efficiency and operational costs, and of course, supporting Indonesia's G20 Presidency in November 2022, one of which focuses on the issue of energy transition.
PTBA has also built a Solar Power Plant at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in collaboration with PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero). The Solar Power Plant, which has been fully operational since October 1, 2020, consists of 720 solar panel systems with photovoltaics with a maximum capacity of 241 kWp and is installed in the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) Building.
