Bukit Asam’s Covid-19 Vaccination

PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) continues to take a number of preventive measures to fight against Covid-19 pandemic. Vaccination is one of the big steps taken by Bukit Asam as a commitment to support the Government's vaccination program.

Bukit Asam’s vaccination program takes place from Thursday (June 10, 2021) to Tuesday, (June 15, 2021), at GSG Baru Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim.

The Chairman Commitee of the Vaccination Program, Reviyanto said that Bukit Asam together with the Muara Enim Regency Government and the Muara Enim Health Office provided a total of 3,000 doses of Astrazeneca vaccine, of which 800 doses were for employees and 2,200 doses were for Bukit Asam’s outsourced employees over the age of 30.

"Alhamdulillah, praise to God, this vaccination program was responded very positively by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and very much welcomed by the Regional Government of Muara Enim Regency," he said.

Reviyanto as Bukit Asam Administrative Manager and HR Personnel explained that before getting the vaccine, all participants had to go through a screening process to ensure that each person was in good health and safe to get vaccinated. After the screening process and vaccination, participants were observed for the next 30 minutes to make sure there weren’t any side effects.

"Hopefully the program will run smoothly for the next 5 days. The second dose of vaccination will be scheduled in approximately 3 months," he said.

On the same occasion, dr. Bandriyo Sudarsono, Head of Bukit Asam Hospital, explained that after vaccination, side effect may or may not occur depending on the immune system of each individual. The common symptoms are slight fever, feverish and sometimes fatigue, which is actually side effects of all vaccines.

For Astrazeneca vaccine type, the safe age limit is 30 years and older, with the effectiveness level for the vaccine more than 70-80 percent.

The community and workers do not need to be afraid or worried to get vaccinated because it is safe. The purpose of the vaccine is to introduce weakened virus to our body so that our body recognizes the virus and becomes immune if a similar virus enters the body. However, for people with serious illnesses, such as heart disease and those that require dialysis, they need to be more careful in this regard. However not a contra indication, we still need to be careful. As for people who have been exposed to Covid-19, they mustn’t afraid to get vaccinated but must wait for 3 months after the exposure.

"Hopefully the more people get the vaccine, the number exposed to Covid-19 will decrease. Because those who have got vaccination will be more immune from exposure to the Covid-19 virus," he said.

Meanwhile, representative of Bukit Asam Management, Senior Manager of HR Operations, Yudhya Santyawan, asked all employees, families and business partners to take part in this vaccination activity, because Covid vaccination is very important to keep and protect themselves from Covid-19. Vaccination is carried out to prevent wider transmission of Covid-19 and also to maintain the continuity of the company's operations.

"Alhamdulillah, thank God, I got vaccinated today. Even though we all got vaccinated, we must continue to maintain health protocols, wear masks properly, keep our distance, and wash our hands. Thus, hopefully God protects us all and this pandemic can end soon," he said.

Meanwhile, Efi Hendriyani representing Ali Daya Manpower from the CSR Work Unit expressed her gratitude to Bukit Asam and the Muara Enim Regency Government for their efforts to administer vaccines today, especially for the outsourced employees.

"This vaccine is very important to prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus, especially with the job demands that require to meet people outside or in the field like the CSR Work Unit. This vaccine injection is no difference with other regular injection and the side effect is not dangerous. So for those who haven't got vaccination, don't be afraid to get one because this is for our common cause in preventing the Covid 19 pandemic," she said.

Let's all care about each other and protect one another by getting Covid-19 vaccination and following health protocols to stop the spread of the virus and hopefully the Covid-19 pandemic can end soon.
