Bukit Asam Wins Twice at Global Good Governance Awards

PT Bukit Asam (PTBA) won two prestigious international awards at the Global Good Governance Awards (3G Awards) held by Cambridge IFA on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

Those two awards are the 2021 3G Championship Award in Corporate Governance Reporting and the 2021 3G ESG Championship Award for Indonesia.

The 3G Awards, which was live-streamed last week, emphasized in its assessment the importance of sustainable growth in the global context that could be reflected in the concept, policies, and practices.

Good governance is not only about making the right decisions, but also about the decision-making process that champions transparency, accountability, and fairness.

The good governance assessment has five pillars, namely transparency, social responsibility, sustainability, impact, and innovation.

The 3G Awards, spearheaded by Cambridge IFA, is held to promote good governance by recognizing individuals, governments, public and private institutions, and non-governmental organizations practicing good governance principles. Since its debut in 2016 in Turkey, the 3G Awards has presented about 150 awards.

PTBA appreciates the award given to the company for its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards. PTBA has always been committed to ESG development and implementation.

PTBA's MSCI ESG Rating in 2020 was BBB (one of the highest-rated among companies in similar industry) and the company aims an upgrade to A in 2021. That upgrade, if realized, would support PTBA's business transformation, particularly as a guarantee for funding assistance for the development of the company's strategic initiatives.
