
These treasury shares came from shares from the buyback of PTBA shares from September 2, 2015, to December 1, 2015 with a total buyback of 330,296,000 shares.
The method of treasury shares transfer was not in the stock exchange or in private placement. Acting as the buyers of the treasury shares were the following SOEs: PT BNI Sekuritas, PT BRI Danareksa Sekuritas, PT Bahana Sekuritas.
Of the total 303,148,000 treasury shares, as many as 262.5 million shares were successfully purchased by PT Taspen (Persero) or 87 percent of the total number of shares transferred. The purchase of treasury shares also increased PT Taspen (Persero)'s share ownership in PTBA from 95.9 million shares or 1% to 358.4 million shares or 3%.
PT Taspen (Persero) is a long-term investor in PTBA, and the share transfer process has certainly gone through a detailed review process of PTBA's business processes. This indicates high investor confidence level in PTBA shares.

The purchase value of treasury shares by PT Taspen (Persero) reached Rp598.5 billion. President Director of TASPEN Antonius N.S Kosasih also the publication of the treasury shares transfer.
“TASPEN strongly believes in the performance and professionalism of PT Bukit Asam Tbk in the coal industry,” said Kosasih.
Kosasih explained that the purchase of shares is an alternative investment for TASPEN considering the price of coal is increasing and strengthening.
