
PT Bukit Asam Tbk held a Culinary Festival at Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH), Berangau, Tanjung Enim in welcoming its 39th anniversary. This Festival lasted for one week from Monday (17/2) to (24/2), involving more than 100 local entrepreneurs.
Muara Enim Regency government really appreciated this program as it supported the local business promotion.
"Besides transactional activity for the community, this festival also functions as promotion for local businesses, either that of fostered by Bukit Asam or the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and other SMEs," said Rahmad, Head of Lawang Kidul Sub-district during his visit to The Culinary Festival last Thursday (2/20).
“This activity will encourage the enthusiasm of SMEs in Muara Enim Regency, especially in the District of Lawang Kidul in realizing Tanjung Enim as tourist destination. The local entrepreneurs involved in the Culinary Festival brought various types of home-based products such as local food and souvenirs,†continued Rahmad.
Meanwhile, Senior Manajer Pertambangan Swakelola Eko Pujiantoro said that every year the company held the same event and this year’s number of booth has increased to 220 from 144 last year. He hoped that this kind of activities would bring benefit for the local business and the community.
A participant, Ristia Selfianti (22), told that this activity was a communication forum and promotion for the businessmen and the community. "This is a very good event, and it would be great if it's held more often, at least twice a year," said Ristia.
