Mining Inspector of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Kokon Triyanko, Head of the South Sumatra ESDM Service Hendriansyah, Head of the South Sumatra Basarnas Hery Marantika, Commander of the Pagaralam SAR Post Hedi Tusanzi, Head of the Muara Enim Environment Agency Kurmin, Head of the Muara Enim Manpower & Transmigration Service Siti Herawati, Muara Enim BPBD Chief Executor Abdurrozieq Putra, Head of the Muara Enim Fire & Rescue Service Yulius, Lawang Kidul Sub-District Head Andrille Martin, Tanjung Enim Danramil Captain Czi Sujarwo, and Lawang Kidul Police Chief Iptu Yogie Sugama Hasyim also attended the event.
PTBA Director of Operations & Production Suhedi in his remarks said that SSFRC was an event for gathering and sharing knowledge about rescue to improve joint capabilities. He hoped that similar activities would continue in the future and involve more participants including the government agencies and other rescue parties. "Good luck to all participants. Keep up the enthusiasm and play fair. We wish the event to run well," said Suhedi.
According to Chairman of the 1st SSFRC Committee Agung Budiarto, this event was also part of the National Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) Month at PTBA. The 1st SSFRC was participated by 11 rescue teams from South Sumatra, including PTBA rescue team, PTBA's subsidiaries/sub-subsidiaries, PTBA's partners and government agencies.
The competition categories were the Water Rescue Challenge (WTR), Fire Road Accident Rescue Challenge (FRAR), Firefighter Fitness Drill Challenge (FFD), and Firefighter Competency (FCT).
"SSFRC allows one team to handle incidents, while other teams can observe and learn from the simulation. The next team is then given the same scenario by applying different procedures and techniques, and everything will be assessed," Agung explained.
The Head of the South Sumatra ESDM Service Hendriansyah expressed his appreciation to PTBA for having initiated this event because mining activities were subject to high risks of fire, work accidents, and others. Even though there were inspectors in the mining area, possibility of accidents still existed. Therefore, the 1st SSFRC event was not only a competition event, but also knowledge sharing to make the rescue teams more qualified and responsive. He asked all companies to have a rescue team and prepare the Human Resources and funding sources. He also requested the rescue teams to be actively involved in natural disasters rescue, especially in South Sumatra.
Mining Inspector of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Kokon Triyanko at the event opening said that rescue was an important part of OHS in mining and residential area. This event was great for forming and training reliable mine rescuers.
"Good luck with the competition, make this event as evaluation and knowledge sharing. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources appreciates this activity and would like to congratulate PTBA for successfully holding this event. We hope such competitions will develop and continue in the future," he said.
