PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) again held Bukit Asam Innovation Awards (BAIA) on Wednesday (11/7) at GOR Bukit Asam, Tanjung Enim. This biennial innovation event was held with the theme “Innovation for State Enchantment”. Through this theme, its expected that the innovations has been created can contribute positively to the company and Indonesia.
On the final of the award of BAIA 2018, the Board Directors of PTBA awarded prizes to the winner of BAIA 2018 in various categories. The categories contested in BAIA 2018 are differentiated into internal and external PTBA.
For internal participants, the categories contested are conceptual engineering and non-engineering, as well as engineering and non-engineering implementation. While for external participants is divided into two, the closest partner and high school / vocational/ MA students.
In the category of Conceptual Engineering, innovation from Rizki Al Fadhli and the team won the first champion with the title of Acid Mine Water Works for Giant Battery Storage System. The Non-Engineering Conceptual Category was won by Bayu Tri and Rendhi Achmad under the title of Mine Situation Online Monitoring Using Photos and Air Video at UPTE.
For the category of Engineering Implementation, Mirdiansyah and the team won with the title of innovation Application Creation and Security Transfer Chute Addition for Filling Railway Carriage with Safe and Fast Purposes at TLS 102. While the Non-Engineering Implementation category was achieved by Hasan Rinaldi and Wildan Ahmadi with the title of Innovation Optimization for Idle Cash.
The award at BAIA 2018 is also awarded to partners and Senior High School / Vocational Schools in Muara Enim and Lahat District who have participated in BAIA. From the partner category, PT United Tractor team succeeded to win the first champion with the title Innovation of Cold Inexpensive in Mine (Convert AC Unit PC3000-6E to Split AC). At the High School / Vocational Level, the category of Biological Sciences was won by SMKN 1 Gelumbang team with the title of Innovation of Rice Dormansi with Basil Leaf Extract.
While the category of Science of Engineering was won by the team of SMAN 1 Rambang Dangku with the title of innovation Wear pack Multifunction for All Conditions.
In BAIA 2018, at least 237 proposal of innovation are registered from all participants in various categories. The judging process is done by judges team from internal PTBA and Operational Excellence consultant. For the category of Life Science and Engineering Sciences, in addition to judged by internal judges of PTBA, also judged by the LIPI Information Research Center and Education, Youth and Sports Office Palembang.
The judging process itself was conducted from March 1st to March 9th, 2018 and also conducted field verification on April 2nd to April 13th, 2018. Some aspects assessed on this judging, the originality, cost reduction, and risked posed.
One of the winners of BAIA 2018, Rizky Al Fadhli admitted himself and the team to prepare the innovation material for approximately two months. With the theme of mine acid water is picked up by his team because acidic acid has a metal-containing character that can be used as a battery to electricity. In this innovation can reduce the heavy metal content contained in mine water.
Through his team’s innovation, Rizky said it has a positive impact for the environment and electricity. In addition to neutralizing the pH without using chemicals. This innovation also can ensure the availability of electricity in CHF.
“What’s unique enough in this presentation is we also conduct small demonstrations or trials to explain the working principles of this Giant Battery”, he said.
Previously, the series of activities from BAIA 2018 since August 2017 with socialization in September to October 2017. Throughout the socialization, presented the national innovators to be able to discuss with employees of PTBA and stakeholders. Innovators present on this occasion include CFO “Buka Lapak”, M. Fazrin Rasyid and iron innovators for disabilities.
Director of PTBA, Arviyan Arifin hopes that BAIA can encourage PTBA’s employees, partners, and students to create innovations that can be useful for Indonesia.
Through BAIA 2018, it is expected to encourage motivate and civilize PTBA employees as well as all stakeholders to constantly improve competitiveness towards the era of global competition through creativity, innovation, and improvement.
