General Manager of PT Bukit Asam Tbk Tarahan Harbor Unit, Hengki Burmana, explained that the mangrove planting in an area of 16.7 hectares aimed to improve the ecological function of mangrove forests as a source of diversity of aquatic and non-aquatic biota.

Mangrove planting was also expected to support the development of ecotourism areas thereby increasing the multiplier effect for the surrounding community.

"PTBA Tarahan Port Unit is currently directing CSR activities towards the productivity of regional and community development around the operational area. This will lead to more organized and better village development. Hopefully this activity will be sustainable and have a positive impact on the community," said Hengki.

PTBA Tarahan Port Unit's support for the development of Cuku Nyi Nyi Mangrove Ecotourism is also realized by the construction of a number of supporting facilities such as Gazebos, Jogging Tracks, and Eiffel Towers Miniature.

PTBA Tarahan Port Unit also provided paving block assistance for the road leading to the Cuku Nyi Nyi Mangrove Ecotourism and symbolically handed over the paving block made from the processing of Fly Ash and Bottom Ash (FABA) waste.
