PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) received an award at the 2024 Republika ESG Award in Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) category.This award was granted in recognition of PTBA's commitment to upholding high workplace health, safety, security, and the environment (HSSE) standards. PTBA was regarded as having demonstrated outstanding commitment to ensuring a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly work environment.
Pahala Mansury, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia presented the award to Farida Thamrin, Director of Finance & Risk Management of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) in Jakarta on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
“In light of this honor, we are even more motivated to keep up our efforts to preserve the environment, security, health, and safety of the workplace. This is consistent with the good mining practices (GMP) principles that we implement to provide the nation with continuous access to energy," said Farida.
PTBA has commitment to employees protection and environmental safety and has made various efforts to improve its HSSE culture. The HSSE Management System (SMK3), Mining Safety Management System (SMKP), ISO 45001 - 2018 are standards and guidelines for the Company in managing mining safety.
Nur Hasan Murtiadji, Director of PT Republika Media Mandiri, stated that ESG is a strategic step that not only focuses on business continuity, but also promotes environmental sustainability and advances social welfare.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, Republika gives recognition to companies and institutions that have effectively implemented ESG principles with Republika ESG Award.
