
Learning (Immersion) is one of the activities included in the BLADE Pioneer Leader program, and BLADE Pioneer Leader participants traveled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from September 23 to 26, 2024. The purpose is to witness firsthand the application of innovation in the field of renewable energy, research energy sector trends in other countries, and widen their horizons in renewable energy development.
They visit numerous business entities and institutions, including Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT). TNB is Malaysia's major electricity supplier. Meanwhile, MIGHT is an institution under the Malaysian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation that focuses on technology development.
"We appreciate Bukit Asam's BLADE program as a strategic step toward improving human resource capabilities. TNB is willing to collaborate even further to accelerate the Net Zero Emissions target through knowledge and experience sharing," said Samsul Ariffin Zainuddin, Group Head of Corporate Communications Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
Mahalil Amin Abdul Malek, VP of Sustainable Development Technologies Division MIGHT, welcomed the PTBA delegation's visit to share knowledge. “We also hope that this activity will mark the start of networking and collaboration in renewable energy and technology between Indonesia and Malaysia," he said.
Meanwhile, Latif Alfiyan Zuhri, a member in the BLADE Pioneer Leader program, felt fortunate to have the opportunity to learn more about renewable energy.
"I am excited to be able to explore various topics, particularly those related to energy transition, energy and economic policies and new developments in solar and hydrogen energy. I believe this experience will be very valuable for PT Bukit Asam in supporting sustainable energy initiatives and the development of other strategic projects," he said.
Similarly, Nashirul Haq, another BLADE participant, expects that the new insights gained during this program can be implemented at PTBA. “I hope that this visit provides us with new insights and technology that can be utilized and regulated at PT Bukit Asam," he said.
