PTBA Spending Over IDR14.59 Billion to Fight Against Corona

PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) continues to actively participate in fighting the Covid-19 outbreak in this country.

Until July 2020, PTBA has disbursed donations of IDR14.59 billion; consisting of medical device assistance, direct assistance to the public and community, facilities and infrastructure to support health protocols, socialization of Covid-19 spread prevention, and others.

Besides the residents around the PTBA mining area in Muara Enim, Lahat and Prabumulih districts, PTBA has also delivered assistance to those in other provinces in Sumatra, through the Assignment of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) for Incidental Community Development.

PTBA has also given out IDR1.3 billion assistance through the BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri Foundation specifically for the handling and prevention of the Covid-19 outbreak.

In accordance with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) instructions, the holiday allowances (THR) of all directors and commissioners of PT Bukit Asam Tbk and its subsidiaries are allocated to Covid-19 outbreak handling.

PTBA has always been actively providing public socialization about covid-19 spread prevention, such as habituation in washing hands, using masks, social distancing, coughing etiquette, and so on.

Along with the socialization effort, up until July 2020 PTBA in collaboration with the Regional Leadership Conference (Muspida) and the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19 in Muara Enim Regency has distributed personal protective equipment, consisting of 293,696 masks that comply with the Ministry of Health standards – the masks were produced by local business people as economic empowerment effort in the company’s operational area, and 1258 hand sanitizers to Tanjung Enim community. PTBA has also disbursed 107,720 food packages and 26 tons of rice for low-income people affected by Covid-19.

PTBA ensures that mining operations are still running in compliance with the Health protocol established by the government, including regular disinfectant spraying activity in the company's Ring 1 area.

The company expresses its highest appreciation to health workers and paramedics who have struggled in treating Covid-19 patients as an effort in breaking the chain of Covid-19 virus spread.
