The provision of this assistance is part of the series of events celebrating the 44th Anniversary of PT Bukit Asam Tbk. The boat assistance is expected to increase fishermen's productivity in fishing.
The recipients of the boat assistance are traditional fishermen from low-income communities, whose boats are no longer fit for use. These fishermen rely on the Musi River, where they earn a living by catching catfish, baung, juaro, betutu, and shrimp every day.
M. Azli Febiansyah, Secretary of Seberang Ulu 1 District, expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by PTBA. He stated that the boat assistance would enable fishermen to work more efficiently when fishing in the river, ultimately having a positive impact on improving their welfare.
"This assistance is very valuable, especially for fishermen who rely on boats for their livelihood. PTBA consistently demonstrates its concern, not just for the ring 1 area, but for the broader community as well. I hope that the 44th anniversary, PTBA will continue to grow and bring even more benefits to the community," said Azli.
Zen, one of the fishermen in Seberang Ulu 1 District, expressed his gratitude for PTBA's attention. He hopes that PTBA will continue to bring benefits to the broader community, including fishermen.
"Alhamdulillah, we are grateful for the support, allowing our activities as fishermen more manageable. On PTBA's anniversary, we pray that PTBA continues to progress, achieves success, and that the leaders and all staff are blessed by Allah," said Zen.
In commemoration of its 44th anniversary, PTBA organized a series of social activities. Driven by a relentless spirit of contribution, PTBA continues to work towards improving the welfare of the community. In addition to providing boat assistance for fishermen, PTBA's Kertapati Pier Unit in Palembang also distributed basic food aid to underprivileged communities surrounding the operational area.
A total of 4,180 basic food packages were distributed to underprivileged residents in Gandus and Kertapati Districts. The event took place in the yard of the Ki Merogan Mosque, Palembang, on Sunday, March 2, 2025. The assistance is aimed at helping to meet the basic needs of underprivileged communities during the month of Ramadan.
