Bukit Asam Weekend Camp to Celebrate National OHS Month

Hundreds of Rover and Ranger Scouts from high school, vocational high school and Islamic high schools in Muara Enim Regency and Lahat Regency ring 1 participated the Camping activity that was held from 3 February to 5 February 2023.
Representing PTBA Management, Production and Operations Expert Kanthi Miarso said that this Camping event was part of the National OHS Month to increase scouting participation in realizing the implementation of OHS culture, especially in every inclusive and sustainable activity.
The Scout Movement shapes the character, behavior and personality of the nation's young generation so that later they would become citizens who have great character, integrity, and patriotism to defend the nation.
"We would like to welcome the Rover and Ranger Scouts who come from various front groups with different school backgrounds. This is indeed a manifestation of Unity in Diversity. At the end of the program, you should share your knowledge, skills and experience to your colleagues at your respective schools," he said.
This camp activity aims to build youth enthusiasm in scouting activities such as leadership development, gaining knowledge and skills, creating, and building national unity by establishing friendship and togetherness among fellow scouts.
According to Bukit Asam 2023 Camp Executive Coordinator Pundhi Ramandha, there were 22 groups participating, each consisting of 21 male gangs and 22 female gangs.
The activity started with a visit to Bukit Asam Coal Museum on Friday morning, February 3, 2023, then heading to the Banko Green Memorial Park Camping Ground, where the participants learnt how to use of Light Fire Extinguishers properly.
In this event, several competitions were held, including Art Performance Contest for female participants, Morse and Semaphore Competition, Tent Building Competition, and Pioneering/Knot-Tying Competition for male and female participants.
For three days each camp were assessed separately. The camps with the best “Brief, Neat, Clean, Maintained, Diligent (5R)” implementation received special appreciation. Finally, on Sunday, February 5, 2023, all participants took part in Outbound," Pundhi said.
In Bukit Asam 2023 Camp Opening Ceremony, Head of Lawang Kidul Police Iptu Yogie Sugama Hasyim, Military District Commander 404-05/Tanjung Enim Captain Czi Sujarwo, Waka Bina Muda Muara Enim Regency Council AKP RTM Situmorang, Waka Bina Wasa Muara Enim Regency Council Bambang Gusviantara, Scout Secretary Muara Enim Regency Council Bambang Hermanto, Scout Trainer Corps Muara Enim Regency Council Ajrun Abadi, and Scout Group coaches from Muara Enim Regency Council were present.
