Bukit Asam (PTBA) Provides Rp1 Billion in Aid to Mosques and Orphanages in Lampung

Bukit Asam (PTBA) Provides Rp1 Billion in Aid to Mosques and Orphanages in Lampung PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Tarahan Port Unit actively supports the community nearby. During Ramadan 1445 H and PTBA's 43rd anniversary, the Tarahan Port Unit distributed around Rp1 billion to Islamic boarding schools, orphanages and mosques in Lampung Province.

As the month of Ramadan 1445 H approaching, PTBA Tarahan Port Unit delivered 4,139 basic food packages worth Rp754,986,000 to underprivileged families in the company's surrounding and other areas of Lampung. During the Ramadan Safari on March 28, 2024, Rp100,000,000 was also distributed to 10 Islamic boarding schools and orphanages in the Lampung area, as well as additional aid to dozens of mosques/prayer rooms in Lampung area valued approximately Rp150 million.

General Manager of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Tarahan Port Unit, Hengki Burmana, said that providing this assistance demonstrated the company's concern for the underprivileged communities around its operational area.

"PTBA is committed to growing and developing together with the community, building harmonious relationships and providing benefits. Hopefully this assistance can help fulfill the basic needs of the beneficiaries," said Hengki.

Providing assistance in the form of basic food packages and cash supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) in alleviating poverty, eliminating hunger, living a healthy and prosperous life, and decreasing inequality.

"With the principle of leaving no one behind, PTBA Tarahan Port Unit has distributed aid to underprivileged communities around the company, including those who live at rail sides, people with disabilities, blind groups, Islamic boarding schools, orphans and also flood victims. Hopefully, our concern will truly serve the community and the region; we hope the company will continue to be profitable and operate efficiently so that it can constantly give the best for the community," he said.

In addition, PTBA Tarahan Port Unit organized a free medical check up and blood sugar check program which was attended by 229 participants around the company area. This program not only attracted a great deal of interest, but also received appreciation from the public.

"This medical check up program actually reaches the lower class, and Bukit Asam, aside from carrying out medical checkups, also provides medicine on the spot through the company's doctors," said Srengsem Village Head, Hendra Jaya Saputra.

Amir Hamzah, Chairman of the Bandar Lampung City Social/Child Health Institutions (FORDA) Regional Forum, expressed gratitude to PTBA Tarahan Port Unit for providing basic food support to 33 orphanages in Bandar Lampung.

"Alhamdulillah, praise to God, this support will cover the orphanage children's necessities for sahur and breaking the fast. Financial aid has also made it possible to buy Eid clothing for the orphanage children. We wish Bukit Asam greater prosperity, as it has greatly benefited society with its many contributions. I pray that Allah SWT would bless you, that you will always meet your goals, that everything you do will go smoothly, and that Allah SWT will always grant health to your employees," said Amir.
