Bukit Asam (PTBA) Planting Mangrove in the Celebration World Wetlands Day

One of the places where simultaneous planting activities are taking place is the mangrove ecotourism region of Cuku Nyinyi in Sidodadi village, Lampung. Sidodadi village is a village assisted by PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Tarahan Port Unit.
The mangrove planting event in Sidodadi Village on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, is being participated in by representatives of various institutions and stakeholders, including the general inspector of KLHK, Mrs. Lakshmi Wijayanti, the regent of Pesawaran, Mr. Dendi Ramadhona, the general manager of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) in Tarahan Port Unit, Mr. Hengki Burmana, and many others.
Mangrove planting is intended to enhance the ecological function of mangrove forests as sources of both aquatic and non-aquatic biota diversity, according to Mrs. Lakshmi Wijayanti, General Inspector of KLHK.
Mangroves must be preserved due to the fact that they provide multiple benefits. Among them are protecting a life support system, lowering global warming, and preventing abrasion.
"We expressed our appreciation and thanks to everyone involved in this simultaneous plating of mangroves. Mrs. Laksmi said, "Let's work together to preserve the environment.
At the same event, Mr. Hengki Burmana, General Manager of PTBA Tarahan Port Unit, stated that taking part in the planting of 30,000 mangrove seeds this year was in line with PTBA's mission of being a world-class energy company that is environmentally conscious.
"Mangrove forests are vital to the surrounding communities and the environment. As a way of showing our dedication to environmental protection, we support the planting of mangroves. in keeping with the business's 2050 decarbonization road map," Mr. Hengki stated.
Mangrove planting is beneficial for the sustainability of the environment, but it can also improve the welfare of the neighborhood by fostering the growth of ecotourism destinations.
A total of 20,000 mangrove seedlings have been planted by PTBA in Sidodadi Village. By the end of this year, the target is to plant 50,000 mangrove seedlings in an area of 10 hectares.
"Wetlands and Human Wellbeing" is the theme for Wetlands Day in 2024. This theme emphasizes how crucial it is to protect and manage wetlands as an essential component of maintaining human welfare, particularly for Indonesia's future generations.
