"The increase of BPB fleet will help PTBA achieve the production and sales targets in order to provide non-stop energy to the country," said President Director of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), Arsal Ismail.

BPB, which was founded in 2014, is an affiliate company of PTBA which is engaged in the maritime transportation business, operating ships and barges as well as ship agency services.

BPB now has four (4) series of tugboats and barges. Each tugboat is equipped with a 2x1100 HP pulling power engine, and a 300 ft barge with a capacity of 7,500 Metric Tons (MT).

"With the increase in the fleet, we can further improve services while contributing to the national energy security," said President Director of PT Bukit Prima Bahari (BPB), Yanny RM Ondang.

BPB service involves transferring PTBA coal cargo from Kertapati Pier to Tanjung Kampeh and other ports in the Musi River area.

With PTBA's plan to increase production for accelerating the monetization of coal reserves, BPB plans to gradually expand its fleet to 48 series of tugboats and barges by 2029.
