After Four Years of BUMN Transformation, Bukit Asam (PTBA) Continues to Advance

By upholding AKHLAK (Trustworthy, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive and Collaborative) as core values and strengthening corporate governance, the Ministry of BUMN consistently encourages its corporations to have better performance in the future.
"As a State-Owned Enterprise, PTBA has made history by achieving the highest financial performance in the fiscal year 2022. The company had a net profit of Rp12.6 trillion, a 59 percent increase over the previous year's profit of Rp7.9 trillion. This is the result of the BUMN transformation, which has been implemented for four years," said Corporate Secretary of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), Niko Chandra.
As the largest owner of BUMN shares, the state not only receives income from taxes, but also benefits from BUMN's good business results. "The increase in state revenues from dividends supports national economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic," said Niko.
The Ministry of BUMN wants its corporations to expand their position as a development agency in addition to contributing to state revenues. For this reason, PTBA is also working to strengthen national energy security.
"As a Member of the MIND ID Mining BUMN Holding, PTBA continues to carry out transformation through business diversification to become a world-class energy company that cares about the environment. One of them is by entering the new renewable energy (NRE) business. In addition, the company is also committed to supporting government policies that encourage coal downstreaming,” said Niko.
The strengthening corporate governance, encouraged by the Ministry of BUMN, is the foundation for management improvement in the future to becomes more accountable for achieving the company’s goals.
"The Ministry of BUMN’s transformation will make its corporations even more resilient in the future. This is our foothold in BUMN to reach new level, increase competitiveness, and become more competitive. In this way it can support Indonesia realizing its goal of becoming a developed country," he said.
