PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) in collaboration with PT Bukit Asam Medika (PTBAM) provides adaptive wheelchairs to seven people with Cerebral Palsy in Muara Enim Regency on the occasion of PTBA's 43rd Anniversary.

Cerebral palsy is a growth and developmental condition that impairs bodily movement and muscle coordination. People with Cerebral Palsy require unique accommodations in terms of mobility and accessibility. Therefore, one of the most important instruments is an adaptive wheelchair.

On Thursday, February 29, 2024, the PTBA 43rd Anniversary Committee team and PTBAM medical personnel paid visits to aid recipients' homes in Tanjung Agung Village, Lawang Kidul District, Muara Enim. Apart from wheelchairs, other forms of support included bedding and cash.

“Because not everyone with Cerebral Palsy can still move around in a wheelchair, there are some whose activities are limited to lying down," said one of the committee members, Drg. Febby Rosidayani.

Mrs. Heni, the parent of Ahmad Al Farizi, one of the aid recipients, thanked PTBA and the visiting group, “We would like to thank PTBA very much. Hopefully PTBA can continue to spread goodness and abundant benefits and will become more advanced and successful.”

Other health-related services that Bukit Asam regularly offers to the local population include the Eye Clinic, which offers free consultations and glasses, free medical programs, and additional food to improve the nutrition of mothers and children from impoverished communities around the company operational areas.

“In the middle of last week, we also performed complimentary circumcisions for children in the company's operational areas. Aside from hosting health programs, we also assist in events organized by other institutions or agencies to promote children's growth and development,” said AVP Sustainable Economics, Social & Environment PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Mustafa Kamal.

Bukit Asam is committed to continuing to play an active role in making positive contributions to society, with a focus on programs that have a direct impact on community needs. "Through programs like this, Bukit Asam hopes to provide real benefits for people with disabilities and the larger community," said Mustafa.
