PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), through the Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim Volleyball Development (PBV), consistently supports the development of young volleyball athletes from Muara Enim. In line with the government’s Asta Cita, PTBA as part of the Ministry of SOEs, supports the development of human resources (HR) and sports achievements.PBV Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim is now targeting national-level achievements with the goal for PBV Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim to eventually compete in the Proliga Volleyball, Indonesia's highest level tournament. With more achievements, PBV Volleyball Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim will help promoting the Tanjung Enim Tourist City program.
Various attempts have been taken to reach this goal, including recruiting nationally certified Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches, as well as providing facilities for all athlete needs, housing, sports buildings, and others.
Meanwhile, the scouting of young athletes takes place at schools and inter-village tournaments in Muara Enim Regency.
"PBV Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim continues to recruit in schools and attend local tournaments in Muara Enim Regency, as well as conduct selection before athletes join the squad to reach more achievements. PBV Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim currently fosters 230 boys and girls in grades elementary through high school," said Erwin, Chairman of PBV Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim.
Every Friday and Saturday, PBV Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim conducts regular training. In South Sumatra, the PBV Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim squad participates in official tournaments such the Porsiba Cup, sparring with teams from other islands and having national athlete coaching clinics.
In October 2024, the senior team from PBV Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim competed in Livoli Division I. Meanwhile, PBV Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim sent the junior team to Livoli U-19 in December 2024. PBV Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim advanced to the final eight of Livoli Division I and sixteen of Livoli U-19.
"PBV Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim has great hopes for its future. With the existing potential, talent, and excellence, we are confident that they are ready to be proud representatives in the forthcoming competitions, not only in South Sumatra, but also at the national level," said Erwin.
